prepare for a new client call

Ever find yourself answering a call in line at the grocery store and it’s a potential new client cold calling you?

Perhaps you’ve found yourself scrambling from your last meeting to get on the phone with a prospective client and you can feel the disorder wash over you as you fumble for note-taking tools.

Yeah, I’ve done it.

Look, I get that with our new normal we may be taking calls while kids are playing in the background or outside of our preferred schedule. But being well-prepared for your call can be the game-changing technique that allows you to convert more prospective clients to booking that initial consultation.

This video was actually from a few months back and was supposed to be part of the post, “How to run a New Client Discovery Call”. But I NEVER posted it!

Lately, I’ve been getting more new client calls now that I’m taking clients again, and man I’ve felt out of practice! 🥴

But I remembered this video and realized that it could be pretty helpful to my fellow designers. Especially if you’re just getting started or if you’ve never had a good “system” for preparing, taking, and following up on new client calls.

I believe doing these few things can help you feel more prepared, relaxed, and confident. And wouldn’t want to hire that designer?!
